The 808 Zipp Speed Weaponry wheel, a deep section carbon rim, designed mainly as a time trial and triathlon wheelset. The 81mm rim depth and fully toroidal rim profile is more aerodynamic than a three-spoke wheel and more stable in crosswinds. The 808's high lateral stiffness and vibration reducing technologies provide a superior ride and are spec'd with the Zipp 88/188 hubset. The 808 Zipp wheelset is one of the most rugged, having outperformed all comers in drum impact testing. Technologies:
88/188 Hubset: Utilizes Swiss-made bearings and a larger 17mm diameter axle, these hubs yield smooth rotation, higher load capacity, and improved durability. Manufactured with high-voltage wire EDM technology results in a sub-200g hub that is able to handle greater torque. ABLC: Aerodynamic Boundary Layer Control refers to the patented dimpled pattern along the rims surface smoothing airflow and
improving wheel aerodynamics. VCLC: Visco-Elastic Constrained Layer Control is a material layer technique that delivers a 10% reduction in vibration reducing fatigue and keeping the wheels on the road.
